Videographers: Capture the Moments (Dorothy and Bob) 936-321-9050

LOVE AT FIRST RENTAL! Hether and Jason are married! True Color Studios was quite flattered to be hired by this crowd given that Jason's dad is a photographer as well. It is certainly the ultimate compliment to be hired by the family of another professional. Thanks for the confidence guys!

The day was fantastic! It looked like rain all day but the weather held out and gave us a precious few minutes to be outside with the whole gang dressed! The grounds at the Westlake are certainly well manicured. The couple met when Hether was working at Blockbuster and Jason rented a movie. So the integrated this into their reception details. The tables were named after old movies and they even included our studio name on the directors clacker thingy...(Not sure what it is called?) How cool is that! They had a margarita Ice slide sculpture! Needless to say we all took a turn and I had my first margarita in many years. YUMMY! Man what a party!

Here is a hearty "SHOUTOUT" to Hether's gang from Outback steak house. I especially enjoyed meeting the vibrant 20 something cutey flower girl named Jerrikka Alexis Alston. Look out world cause she is a SUPERSTAR! I assure you we will all see more of her... : )

We also have to work with Dorothy and her brother Bob again with Capture the Moments Video. Bob, I like your wheels!

Congrats Hether and Jason and many many many happy years.

Portraits Location: Dunvegan Keep: Designed and Built by Craig Turner.

Wedding Venue: Mom and Dad’s Goat Farm in Austin

We met Julia & Jay at Dunvegan Keep in Austin, the day before the wedding to shoot their couple portraits. They came dressed . What an incredible place. Craig Turner, the owner and builder of this and his wife have created an amazing place for photographs. The place is full of castles and I honestly expected to see a dragon any minute!

Julia’s parents own a goat farm and the ceremony and reception were held on the grounds. This was an amazing and laidback wedding. They were married under a bunch of huge live oaks and they had a guitarists from the local Austin music scene. There were so many really great little details that made the whole thing come together. After the ceremony the party got started under a tent in the open fields behind the house. The grounds were all lit up with latterns and candles. It was really romantic and very much about friends and family. These two had a perfect wedding and just the party that they wanted. We also got a chance to play with the goats!

Wedding Venue: Parador

Florist: Rebekah Graves (281-464-7919)

Caterer: Chef's Table

Kim and Eric were so happy together, it really made it fun and easy to work with them. In the months before their wedding, we shot their engagement and bridal portraits. The engagement shoot was a blast, they were able to relax together in front of the camera and it really produced some great results.

The wedding and reception were both at the Parador, a beautiful venue we love working with. Rebekah Graves did a fabulous job on all of the flowers! Kim and Eric danced the night away before heading out under a rain of flower petals to their waiting limo.

For the next couple of years, we have to remember Kim and Eric through their pictures, because they are headed to China to teach English to kids there.

Ceremony Venue: Second Baptist Church on Woodway

Minister: Clive Berkman(probably the only minister/chef combination out there!)

Reception Venue: Terrace at Marathon Oil Tower.

Florist: Nino Shbeeb (281-873-6466)

DJ: Philip R. Pampolina of PRP Entertainment

Tony & Amber’s wedding was amazing. They started out as a referral from one of my favorite brides of all time- MaryAnn Szilagyi. We loved these two right from the start. They are happy, fun and ready to party!. The ceremony was held at the fabulous 2nd Baptist Church on Woodway. I was photographing the ceremony and realized that I knew this minister from somewhere but could not put my finger on the name . Now you are saying, yes of course you know the minister from another wedding. BUT NOOO.. It turns out that I knew the minister from 15 years ago, prior to the church, at Charlie’s 517 downtown. He was the owner and Chef of Charley’s, which was a landmark spot in Houston during the 80s & 90s. It turned out that my old friend Clive Berkman, whom I had not seen in a great many years was a newly minted Baptist Minister. We all had a big laugh in the limo on the way to the reception about suddenly rediscovering Clive. We also enjoyed getting special treatment from the Church Coordinator because of our new found friend!

The Reception was held at The Terrace at Marathon Oil Tower. It was decorated beautifully and the view was fantastic. The flowers were done by Nino Shbeeb and they were lovely. The party started right away thanks to the DJ who was the one and only Philip R. Pampolina of PRP Entertainment. He is the Godfather of music in the Italian wedding circle. We love him and he really rocks the house. Amber and Tony danced the entire night away as did almost everyone of their guests. As with all the weddings in their family a custom made stop watch was carried to the church by mom and it was stopped at precisely the time they were pronounced man and wife. This gift was presented by Tony’s brother at the reception. The food, music and party were fantastic! Well done all.

KIPP Houston's 6th annual Dinner/Fundraiser Print E-mail

KIPP Houston's 6th annual Dinner/Fundraiser

KIPP Houston is a family of nine tuition-free, college-preparatory early childhood and elementary, middle, and high schools. With its "no shortcuts" and "no excuses" approach to public education, KIPP Houston is the birthplace of the national network of KIPP schools that are proving that the achievement gap can be closed for historically underserved students.

On Monday, April 14, 2008, KIPP will honor Mayor Bill and Andrew White, who as government and community leaders, have been pioneers in making Houston a fertile ground for education reform.

True Color Studios is the primary photographer for the KIPP event foundation and is proud to be able to serve our community in this way. Each year for the last 6 years, my Andrew and I have been fortuneate enough to teach photography during the intersession at KIPP academy. The responses are usually overwelming and we enjoy our service to the classroom immensely. Every year we select some creative and interested students from those sessions to be trained to actually walk around at these events, loaded down with the same equipment our pro-shooters use to work events and release them on the donors! This is big fun for the Donors and for us. It is so cool to be surrounded by interested kids who really love photography and want to learn more. We help of course but we enable the kids to shoot the entire event from portraits, the action shoots, the cocktail hour, dinner and the speeches. These kids are so bright and so cheerful and so helpful, it ihas been our pleasure to be any part of this effort. I look forward to the day that one of these KIPP kids becomes president of the USA or CEO of some major corporation. We will proud and honored to say that we taught them everything they know about photography.

Here are some photos from last year. The theme was SUPERHERO!

Date: March 14, 2008

Venue: River Oaks Country Club

Venue Coordinator: Carol Gallons

Reverend: Russel J. Levington

Live Band: High Rollers

LOVE ON THE DUSTY TRAIL!

These two rodeoers could not stay apart. It seems like the dusty trail ride just kept bringing these two closer and closer together. They knew the same people and rode with the same trail gangs. This story is really about a girl and her horse. If your horse likes him well then he can't be all bad. Their wedding gang was all over the place from cowboy to city slicker which made for one hellofa-parteeeeee! Before the ceremony we spent some time outdoors and took advantage of the unbelieveably beautiful architecture of the St. Martin's church. Check out the cool photos of the building! Lana and the gals were big fun and beautiful as well. Everyone of those gals have great hair! I guess time on the trail makes everything healthy. Stewart was a little nervous but he seemed to settle right down when he got his first glimpse of his main cowgirl! I got to play with the rings for a little while and I mean to tell you that is one beautiful wedding ring.

The River Oaks Country Club looked fantastic. They remodeled about a year ago and things look really classy. If you can imagine, even more classy then it did before. It was a great party with folks excited about Rodeo and seeing each other early this year for something as fantastic as a wedding. High Rollers rocked the house and everyone danced and I MEAN EVERYONE including yours truly. Even this yakee girl can't refuse a two step. Lana was so cute catching up with all her rodeo friends including the band and introducing her new husband to many of them. The party and the dancing went into the weee hours of the morning and I for one was happy to rest my boots.

Happy Trails Lana & Stewart.

Love Tammy & Andrew.
